About this opportunity

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking cooperative agreement applications for the FY25 Forest and Woodlands Resource Management program, focused on high-priority forest and woodland health activities. Eligible applicants include tribal organizations, higher education institutions, state and local governments, and nonprofit organizations (both 501(c)(3) and non-501(c)(3)). The program prioritizes projects that promote forest health, sustainable forest management, fire resiliency, biomass utilization, and habitat conservation on public lands. Specific activities may include tree planting, forest thinning, salvage treatments, fuels reduction, riparian restoration, project planning, and environmental compliance documentation. Proposals will be evaluated based on their alignment with Executive Order 14225 for Immediate Expansion of American Timber Production and their ability to support science-based forest restoration and sustainable harvest across bureau boundaries.

The total funding available is up to $8 million, with approximately 5 expected awards ranging from $5,000 to $1.5 million each. The project period spans 60 months, from September 1, 2025 to August 30, 2030, with the application deadline set for July 23, 2025. Projects will be implemented across the 12 western states and Alaska, focusing on forest and woodland areas managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The cooperative agreements will support critical ecological management activities, emphasizing forest health, fire prevention, and sustainable resource utilization.
