About this opportunity

This notice from the Bureau of Land Management Nevada State Office announces available funding for invasive and noxious plant management projects on public lands through its Invasive and Noxious Plant Management Program (CFDA #15.230). Eligible applicants including state, local, and tribal governments, higher education institutions, and non-profit organizations can receive up to $2.25 million in total to be awarded as three cooperative agreements for projects that prevent, detect, map, control and monitor noxious weed populations. Applicants must demonstrate expertise in natural resource management, the ability to develop cooperative relationships for multijurisdictional management efforts, prioritize invasive plant species for control using integrated pest management practices, and measure acres surveyed and treated to address the priorities of climate change, environmental justice, and clean energy. Proposals are due April 19, 2024 and will be evaluated based on merit criteria with award announcements expected in September 2024.

Individual awards will range from $250,000 to $2 million over one to five years. Funded projects will perform work on public lands within the state of Nevada, with an estimated completion date of September 2024. Budget narratives must be submitted using the provided template with details on projected personnel, travel, equipment, and other costs over the life of each cooperative agreement.
