About this opportunity
The Bureau of Land Management Nevada State Office is seeking proposals for its FY24 IIJA/IRA Fuels Management and Community Fire Assistance Program. Eligible applicants including state, local, and tribal governments, higher education institutions, and nonprofits, should submit proposals by April 12, 2024 addressing reducing wildfire risk and impacts through hazardous fuels reduction, education, and resilient landscapes. Proposals will be evaluated based on community benefits, technical approach, past performance, and leveraging of resources. Awards from $500,000 to $1.75 million will fund one to five years of activities such as fuels management, fire planning, and monitoring to support programs under CFDA 15.228 and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
The program aims to support fuels management activities on federal and non-federal lands through mechanical, manual, prescribed fire, chemical, biological, and structural treatments. It also funds fire education, training, community action plans, assessments, planning, monitoring, maintenance, employment opportunities, and public outreach efforts. Successful applicants must describe project objectives, technical approach, timeline, outcomes, benefits, qualifications, leveraging of resources, and avoidance of duplication.
