About this opportunity
This Notice of Funding Opportunity from the Bureau of Land Management seeks applications for its FY24 Idaho Recreation and Visitor Services Program. Eligible applicants including state, local, tribal governments and non-profits can apply for projects that support connecting underserved communities to public lands, improving climate resilience, expanding recreation access, and identifying barriers to outdoor activities. Applicants must submit proposals by December 11, 2023 that describe the project abstract, statement of need, technical approach, timeline, outcomes and milestones, public and agency benefits, staff qualifications, plans for additional resources, and avoidance of duplication. Proposals will be evaluated on their ability to meet the objectives of increasing public lands access for recreation.
Awards between $10,000 to $100,000 are available to support one to five year projects enhancing visitor experiences on Bureau of Land Management lands in Idaho. Up to five awards are expected to be announced in February 2024 under the Department of Interior's Recreation and Visitor Services Program authorized by the Federal Land Policy and Management Act and Take Pride in America Act, using funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act.
