About this opportunity
This Notice of Funding Opportunity from the Bureau of Land Management announces $500,000 in competitive funding through January 19, 2024 for cooperative agreements supporting the Threatened and Endangered Species Program. Eligible applicants including state, local, and tribal governments, higher education institutions, and non-profit organizations can propose conservation projects for federally-listed species, species distribution data collection, or public education efforts. Proposals will be evaluated based on technical approach, applicant qualifications, and anticipated public benefits in accordance with the Endangered Species Act and BLM multiple use mission. Awarded cooperative agreements from $10,000 to $250,000 over one to five years beginning June 2024 will require substantial federal involvement in training, approval processes, and performance monitoring.
Funding will support on-the-ground conservation actions within designated watershed areas to improve conditions for fish and wildlife. Successful applicants must comply with all administrative and reporting requirements, have experience working with special status species, and demonstrate ability to leverage additional resources to maximize threatened and endangered species protection outcomes.
