About this opportunity

The Corporation for National and Community Service is soliciting applications for the FY 2027 AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Competition to fund community-based volunteer initiatives engaging adults ages 55 and older, with applications due October 20, 2026.

Eligible applicants include state governments, federally recognized tribal governments, tribal organizations not federally recognized, county and city/township governments, special district governments, 501(c)(3) nonprofits, non-501(c)(3) nonprofits, and higher education institutions (public and private nonprofit only).

A statutory 10 percent non-federal cost share is required. Award volume and ceiling are not specified in the source.

RSVP volunteers mentor and tutor children, support workforce development and job-readiness training, assist with disaster preparedness and mitigation, facilitate food security and nutrition programs, support opioid and substance abuse education, serve veterans and military families, and recruit and manage other volunteers. Volunteers choose their service commitment, ranging from a few hours to 40 hours per week.

The program funds activity across ten major categories including education, employment and labor training, food and nutrition, health, housing, disaster relief, and community development. Place of performance spans all states and territories.

The program operates under Assistance Listing 94.002. Historically, RSVP has awarded approximately 140 grants annually, with typical awards in the $200 thousand to $400 thousand range. The period of performance is 120 to 180 days. Grants are subject to audit by AmeriCorps employees, the AmeriCorps Inspector General, the Government Accountability Office, and contracted auditors.
