About this opportunity
The Fellowships program administered by the National Endowment for the Humanities supports individual scholars pursuing exceptional humanistic research projects. Applicants must propose projects that will be carried out over a period of 6 to 12 months to produce outputs such as books, monographs, articles, or digital materials. Evaluation will be based on a project's intellectual significance, quality of research design, and potential to contribute to thought and knowledge. Applications are due by April 10, 2024, with award announcements scheduled for December 2024.
Funding between $30,000 and $60,000 will be available to support research and production of scholarly works. Fellows will be expected to perform work on their individual projects at locations of their choosing. This program falls under the Promotion of the Humanities Fellowships and Stipends program (CFDA 45.160), which provides competitive grants for individual humanities scholarship through fellowships and stipends.
