About this opportunity
The Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is offering the Expanding Access to Women's Health Grant to assist states with planning and implementing certain health insurance market reforms and consumer protections under the Affordable Care Act. The grant program aims to expand access to reproductive and maternal health services by funding state activities related to the Essential Health Benefits Package and coverage of preventive health services. Eligible applicants are state governments, and the evaluation criteria will focus on the state's plan for enhancing and expanding access to these critical women's health services. Letters of Intent are due July 8, 2024, and full applications are due August 7, 2024.
The total anticipated funding for this grant program is $11.1 million, with CMS providing baseline grants of approximately $210,000 to each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Additional "workload" funding may be available based on state population and number of insurers. CMS anticipates issuing award notices on September 13, 2024, with a 24-month period of performance.
