About this opportunity
The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Community Living is soliciting applications for 10 regional grants under the Disability and Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRP) Program: Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) National Network, with an application deadline of July 23, 2026. Exactly 10 grants will be awarded, one per HHS region, with no cost-sharing requirement.
Eligible applicants include states, city and county governments, tribal governments (federally and non-federally recognized), higher education institutions (public and private), 501(c)(3) and non-501(c)(3) nonprofits, small businesses, for-profit organizations, special district governments, and other entities. Award amounts range from $1,000,000 to $1,246,000 per region depending on population size, with a 36-month project period divided into three 12-month budget periods running September 1, 2026 through August 31, 2029.
Applicants must propose training, technical assistance, outreach, and research activities that improve stakeholder understanding of ADA rights and responsibilities. The program requires a minimum 15% of the budget dedicated to ADA research, entry of data into the Outcomes Measurement System, participation in annual in-person meetings in Washington D.C., partnership with ADA stakeholders, and website and IT tool compliance with WCAG 2.0/2.1 AA accessibility standards. Applications must identify which of the 10 HHS regions the proposed center will serve.
Indirect costs may be charged using an approved rate or a de minimis rate of up to 15% of modified total direct costs. An optional notice of intent is due July 14, 2026. An informational conference call is scheduled for July 2, 2026 at 1 p.m. ET. The program is funded under CFDA 93.433 (ACL National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research).
