About this opportunity
The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) is forecasting a Notice of Funding Opportunity to solicit cooperative agreement applications for a Dental Primary Care Practice-Based Research Network Coordinating Center; applications are not being solicited at this time, and the forecast is provided to allow potential applicants time to develop collaborations. The Coordinating Center will manage network membership databases and develop centralized data management systems for multiple observational studies and clinical trials focused on integrating oral health care into medical care and advancing whole-person health. The award will support electronic data capture infrastructure utilizing flexible and innovative technologies, including collection of research participant data independent of in-office visits.
Eligible applicants include state, city, county, and tribal governments; higher education institutions (public and private); 501(c)(3) and non-501(c)(3) nonprofits; small businesses; for-profit organizations; special district governments; independent school districts; public or Indian housing authorities; faith-based and community-based organizations; regional organizations; Indian tribal organizations not federally recognized; eligible federal agencies; and U.S. territories or possessions.
NIDCR particularly encourages applications from investigators with expertise in data coordination and management and experience conducting clinical research in practice-based research settings. A companion NOFO for an Administrative and Resource Center will be published separately. The program operates under CFDA 93.121 (Oral Diseases and Disorders Research) and is authorized under the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 241 and 284) and federal regulations (42 CFR Part 52 and 2 CFR Part 200).
