About this opportunity
The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) is forecasting a Notice of Funding Opportunity for an Administrative and Resource Center (ARC) to support infrastructure for a Dental Primary Care Practice-Based Research Network; applications are not currently being solicited, but notice is provided to allow potential applicants time to develop collaborations. Funding will be awarded as a cooperative agreement under CFDA 93.121, Oral Diseases and Disorders Research.
Eligible applicants include state, city, county, and tribal governments (both federally recognized and other); higher education institutions (public and private); 501(c)(3) and non-501(c)(3) nonprofits; small businesses; for-profit organizations; special district governments; independent school districts; public or Indian housing authorities; faith-based or community-based organizations; regional organizations; eligible federal agencies; and U.S. territories or possessions.
The ARC will be responsible for recruiting and retaining practitioners for network membership and study participation, managing a single IRB, providing research and study-specific training to practitioners and office/clinic staff, and coordinating study deployment across multiple U.S. geographic regions (Nodes). Supported studies will focus on integrating oral health care into medical care (whole-person health). The ARC will operate in coordination with a separate Coordinating Center to support planning and implementation of multiple observational studies and clinical trials.
NIDCR encourages applicants with expertise in study coordination and conducting clinical research in practice-based research settings. The opportunity is authorized under the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 241 and 284) and federal regulations (42 CFR Part 52 and 2 CFR Part 200). No specific award ceiling, floor, timeline, or cost share requirement is stated in this forecast notice.
