Eligible applicants include Single State Agencies for Substance Use, U.S. territories (the District of Columbia, Guam, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Northern Mariana Islands, Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Republic of Palau), federally recognized tribes and tribal organizations, state and local government, nonprofit and community organizations, universities and colleges, research institutions, service providers, training and technical assistance providers, current grant recipients, and individuals served by grant projects.
The program funds comprehensive centers that ensure access to medications for treatment of substance use disorders while delivering integrated prevention, treatment, and recovery support across the continuum of care. The period of performance is three years. SAMHSA administers the program directly under CFDA 93.490 (Center for Substance Abuse Treatment Projects of Regional and National Significance). Awards follow merit review, program analysis, and National Advisory Council concurrence. A three-year records retention requirement applies; records must be retained beyond three years if final audit has not been completed or findings resolved.
