The Department of Housing and Urban Development is seeking applications for its Indian Community Development Block Grant (ICDBG) program. The primary objective of the ICDBG program is to develop viable American Indian and Alaska Native communities through the creation of decent housing, suitable living environments, and economic opportunities primarily for low- and moderate-income persons. This is a competitive grant program with two funding opportunities - Single Purpose Grants and Imminent Threat Grants. Applications for the Single Purpose Grants are due by July 15, 2024. Applicants must demonstrate the capacity to administer the grant, provide a plan for primarily benefitting low- and moderate-income persons, and address racial equity considerations.
The ICDBG program has approximately $75 million in available funds for FY 2024. Single Purpose Grants are awarded for project periods up to 5 years. Imminent Threat Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to address immediate negative impacts on public health or safety. Eligible applicants include Tribal Governments (Federally Recognized) and Tribal Organizations (Not Federally Recognized).
