About this opportunity
The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), which is part of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), is seeking partner organizations to complement its capabilities related to the DOE Office of Science (SC) Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR) program. Specifically, NETL is looking for partners with expertise and experience in wafer scale engine computing, including the Cerebras Assembler, graph compiler development, operating a cluster of Cerebras CS3 wafer scale engines, accessing Cerebras software source code, compiling Cerebras tools, and providing technical support and modifications to Cerebras software. Responses will be evaluated based on technical understanding, qualifications of key personnel, adequacy of facilities and equipment, and budget reasonableness. Responses are due by 8:00 PM ET on September 4, 2024.
Under the DOE Office of Science Financial Assistance Program (CFDA 81.049), NETL anticipates a project period of October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2028. While no specific award values or budget ranges are provided, recent awards under this program have ranged from $8,000 to $1.87 million, with project periods typically spanning 1-3 years. The work is expected to be performed at the partner organizations' facilities as well as DOE national laboratories and user facilities.
