About this opportunity
The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) has released a Request for Information (RFI) titled "Circularity for Secure and Sustainable Products and Materials: A Draft Strategic Framework." The purpose of this RFI is to solicit feedback from industry, academia, research laboratories, government agencies, and other stakeholders on EERE's draft strategic framework for advancing product and material circularity. EERE is seeking input on opportunities, challenges, and enablers for increasing circularity, as well as ways to maximize the impact of its circularity strategy. Key focus areas include critical materials, steel, aluminum, construction materials, plastics, composites, buildings, infrastructure, batteries, and renewable energy technologies. Feedback received will help ensure EERE's investments in this space are optimally positioned.
This is an RFI only, and EERE is not accepting applications for financial assistance or incentives at this time. However, the feedback gathered will likely inform future funding opportunities related to the advancement of product and material circularity. Interested parties should review the attached draft strategic framework and provide their input by the December 16, 2024 deadline.
