About this opportunity
This federal grant opportunity from the Department of Health and Human Services' Administration for Children and Families (ACF) aims to support collaboration between child welfare and domestic violence agencies to enhance services and resources for families impacted by domestic violence. The program will provide funding to improve community response to domestic violence incidents where children are present, with a focus on developing strategic partnerships, building infrastructure capacity, addressing barriers to trauma-informed services, and incorporating input from families with lived experience. Eligible applicants include state, local, or tribal child welfare agencies, domestic violence providers, and other public and private organizations. Recipients will be required to implement a project evaluation plan, attend a kickoff meeting in Washington, DC, and submit regular performance and financial reports.
The ACF will award approximately 6 grants ranging from $200,000 to $250,000 each for a three-year project period, with a total funding amount of $1.5 million. The program operates under the Child Abuse and Neglect Discretionary Activities (CFDA 93.670) and does not require cost-sharing or matching funds from recipients.
Synopsis
The purpose of this funding opportunity is to help jurisdictions improve community response to incidents of domestic violence where a child is present in the household. This will be done by building capacity to enhance collaboration between state, local, or tribal child welfare agencies, domestic violence agencies, and other partners. Projects will include people with lived experience with the child welfare system and/or domestic violence in critical decision-making processes, such as planning, implementing, and evaluating services and resources. The goal of the program is to improve collaboration between child welfare and domestic violence agencies to ensure that families affected by domestic violence, with or at risk of involvement with the child welfare system, have timely access to trauma-informed, individualized services and resources that improve their safety and well-being.
