Synopsis

The BLM Youth Program assists the BLM with diversifying the workforce while exposing participants to the complex cultural and natural resource issues faced by managers of the National System for Public Lands. The primary objective of the youth program is to work with Qualified Youth and Conservation Corps to engage individuals, to include tribal youth between the ages of 16 and 30, and veterans up to age 35, recruited from local and surrounding communities to assist with completing projects that help protect and promote multiple-use conservation projects on public lands.

Eligibility

This opportunity is open any qualified Youth Conservation Corps established by a State or local government, by the governing body of any Indian tribe, or by a nonprofit organization interested in working cooperatively with the BLM to develop and administer projects focused on providing employment, educational, and public-service opportunities for U.S. citizens, legal residents between 16 and 30 and veterans up to age 35. No other entities are eligible to respond. All responding non-profit entities must provide a copy of their Section 501(c)(3) status determination letter received from the Internal Revenue Service.
