About this opportunity
This federal grant opportunity, issued by the Department of Justice's Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), seeks applications from intermediary entities previously funded under the FY22 Community-Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative (CVIPI) solicitation. The goal is to support a second cohort of grassroots community-based violence intervention organizations and develop resources translating the success of this work. Eligible applicants include higher education institutions, non-501(c)(3) nonprofits, for-profit organizations, small businesses, 501(c)(3) nonprofits, and private higher education institutions. Key objectives include preventing and reducing violent crime through comprehensive, evidence-informed, and community-based violence intervention and prevention programs. Applications will be evaluated based on the applicant's understanding of the problem, design and implementation of the program, and capabilities of the organization. The proposal deadline is January 13, 2025.
Federal grant awards under this opportunity are expected to range from $500,000 to $2 million for 2-3 year project periods. The funding will support comprehensive violence intervention efforts in communities across the United States, with a focus on partnerships among community stakeholders, government agencies, service providers, and researchers.
Synopsis
This funding opportunity seeks to prevent and reduce violent crime in communities by supporting comprehensive, evidence-informed, and community-based violence intervention and prevention programs.
