About this opportunity
The U.S. Mission to Nigeria is accepting proposals from eligible nonprofit organizations seeking project funding through the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation for fiscal year 2024. Applicants must propose projects that preserve major archaeological sites, historic buildings, monuments, or museum collections of cultural significance in Nigeria. Successful projects will directly support U.S. foreign policy goals, reduce risks to cultural heritage, complement other public diplomacy programs, or be conducted in an eligible country without past awards. Applicants must provide required registration documentation and be registered in SAM.gov by the January 10, 2024 deadline to be considered.
Grants ranging from $10,000 to $500,000 will be awarded to support projects that can be completed within 60 months. Funded projects must preserve cultural heritage assets located in Nigeria to qualify for placement of award funds. The Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs will administer awards under the U.S. Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation program.
