About this opportunity
The Department of Defense, through the Air Force Research Laboratory's Munitions Directorate, is issuing a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for its Air Dominance research program. The BAA covers 13 technical research areas, including modeling and simulation, aircraft integration, data link technologies, warhead technologies, and propulsion. Small businesses, higher education institutions (public and private), and 501(c)(3) nonprofits are eligible to submit white papers at any time during the 5-year open period. Proposals may be periodically solicited, and evaluation criteria will focus on technical merit, relevance to the research areas, and qualifications of the research team. The BAA does not have a specific due date, but the current solicitation number is FA865125S0001.
The anticipated funding for awards under this BAA is up to $750 million, with a range of award types possible, including cooperative agreements, grants, and procurement contracts. The funding is provided through the Air Force Defense Research Sciences Program (CFDA 12.800), which supports a broad portfolio of basic and applied research to maintain technological superiority in areas relevant to Air Force needs. Research is expected to be performed primarily at the recipient institutions, with potential collaboration at Air Force laboratories.
