Synopsis

This announcement solicits applications for the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) grant program established by the Affordable Care Act (ACA), to continue the delivery of voluntary early childhood home visiting program services in response to a statewide needs assessment in Florida, North Dakota, and Wyoming. The FY 2015 MIECHV formula funding that was otherwise available for allocation to the states of Florida, North Dakota and Wyoming is now being made available to currently MIECHV-funded nonprofit organizations for the purposes described in this funding opportunity announcement (FOA). This program is being undertaken as part of the shared commitment of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) to provide comprehensive family services, support coordinated and comprehensive voluntary statewide home visiting programs, and ensure effective implementation of high-quality evidence-based practices.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations with an established record of providing early childhood home visiting programs or initiatives in a state or several states (§ 511(k)(1)(B) of the Social Security Act) that currently receive MIECHV funding, as noted in Appendix C to this funding opportunity announcement, and that propose to provide services in Florida, North Dakota and Wyoming. Applications from entities that fail to meet these criteria will not be considered. These nonprofit organizations will receive the corresponding share of funds allocated to Florida, North Dakota, and Wyoming in FY 2015, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory MIECHV grant performance, and a decision that continued funding is in the best interest of the Federal Government.
