Synopsis

This notice announces the opportunity to apply for funding under the Advanced Nursing Education Workforce (ANEW) Program. The ANEW program supports academic clinical partnerships to educate and graduate primary care Nurse Practitioners (NP), clinical nurse specialists (CNS) and nurse midwives (NM) who are academically and clinically prepared for the unique challenges of transitioning from nursing school to practice in rural and underserved communities, thereby increasing access to needed primary medical care for these populations.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants include accredited schools of nursing, nursing centers, academic health centers, state or local governments, HRSA supported health centers, and other private or public nonprofit entities determined appropriate by the Secretary. See PHS Act Section 801(1) for definitions of these types of entities. Domestic faith-based and community-based organizations, tribes, and tribal organizations are also eligible to apply, if otherwise eligible. In addition to the 50 states, only the District of Columbia, Guam, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau may apply. Individuals and for-profit entities are not eligible applicants under this NOFO
