About this opportunity

The Advanced Nursing Education - Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (ANE-SANE) Program is a federal grant opportunity administered by the Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration. The program aims to increase the number of Registered Nurses (RNs), Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), and Forensic Nurses trained and certified as sexual assault nurse examiners (SANEs) in communities at the local, regional, and state levels. The goal is to provide better healthcare for survivors, improve evidence collection, and lead to higher prosecution rates. Eligible applicants include accredited schools of nursing, academic health centers, health departments, and community-based nonprofits. Proposals will be evaluated based on criteria such as the described need, response approach, impact, resources, and reasonableness of the requested budget. The deadline for submitting proposals is April 2, 2024.

The ANE-SANE program will provide up to $500,000 per year for up to three years in grant funding to support trainee tuition, clinical placements, and certification. The Advanced Federal Nursing Education Workforce Grant Program (CFDA #93.247) will fund the selected proposals starting July 1, 2024.

Synopsis

The purpose of this program is to increase the supply, distribution, and quality of the sexual assault nurse examiner (SANE) workforce. The program aims to provide access to mental and physical care for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
