About this opportunity
The Department of State Bureau of Political-Military Affairs Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement is seeking applications from non-501(c)(3) nonprofits to provide a Quick Reaction Force capacity available to deploy worldwide on short notice to reduce the harmful effects of unexpected conventional weapons destruction-related emergencies during fiscal year 2024 and 2025. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to deploy teams on less than 72 hours notice to respond to munitions depot explosions, at-risk ammunition depots, or threats from unexploded ordnance and explosive remnants of war that endanger civilians. Selection will be based on technical approach, personnel qualifications, management plan, and cost reasonableness. Applications are due no later than January 28, 2024.
Under this funding opportunity, the Bureau anticipates awarding up to $800,000 to support worldwide deployments through a cooperative agreement under the Department of State's 19.800 - Weapons Removal and Abatement program. The location of performance will be contingent on emergencies as they arise globally requiring rapid response to reduce risks from exposed or at-risk conventional weapons.
