The Department of Energy's Office of Environmental Management (DOE-EM) is issuing a two-step Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Minority Serving Institutions Partnership Program (MSIPP). This NOFO aims to enhance and foster a sustainable and diverse DOE-EM workforce pipeline through technology curriculum, professional development, and shared interest research. Eligible applicants are accredited U.S. Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) with a student population of 5,000 or fewer. Key focus areas include deactivation and decommissioning, digital technologies, and robotics. The two-step application process requires submitting a concept paper by October 15, 2024, and upon invitation, a full application.
Paragraph 2:
The total estimated value of this NOFO is $20.5 million, with individual awards ranging from approximately $1 million to $3 million and a targeted performance period of 12 to 36 months. Subawards to MSIs over 5,000 students are limited to 20% of the total award value, and the primary grant recipient must receive at least 51% of the total award. This funding opportunity is part of the DOE's Minority Economic Impact program (CFDA 81.137).
