About this forecast
Naval Air Systems Command is modifying Contract N0001921G0006 to add 7 Lot-13 P-8A Poseidon aircraft with MUOS (Mobile User Objective System) capability and 4 System Design and Demonstration aircraft, extending the period of performance from December 31, 2026 to December 31, 2028 to align with SATURN modification testing and accommodate delayed B-Kit funding. The modification updates contract documentation, increases the ceiling, and modifies the statement of work to address miscommunication between Boeing and the Navy regarding test aircraft definitions and to consolidate scheduled maintenance windows.
The estimated modification cost is $3.5 million against a total award value range of $2 million to $7.5 million, with performance at Patuxent River, Maryland. This sole-source modification to the existing basic ordering agreement employs cost-reimbursement pricing and was released for solicitation in fiscal 2026 quarter 2, with an estimated award date of July 1, 2026. The contracting office is Naval Air Systems Command HQ (N00019-HQ), supporting program executive office APM290 (PEO A), and requires no facility or personnel security clearances.
