Forecast text

HSI Forensic Laboratory requires contractor support with expertise in forensic, intelligence, and investigative support services. The contractor shall provide development of a fully operating electronic library catalog system that will store high resolution imagery and data of all physical documents housed in the laboratory, expand system access to agency partners, provide real-time response capabilities to field investigators, and ensure continuity of operations in crisis situations, such as a pandemic.

The scope of work for the IDEAL 2.0 online database addresses the primary objective of adding specific functions to the IDEAL 2.0. These additional developments will supplement the current capabilities and improve specific mobile functionality, deployment to a larger government audience, and training capabilities required by the laboratory.

The HSI Forensic Laboratory is the only accredited United States crime laboratory specializing in a broad range of forensic, intelligence, and investigative support services to DHS, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), HSI and other domestic and foreign law enforcement entities. The HSI Forensic laboratory is in the process of redesigning its current library catalog system, which was designed in the late 1990s. Throughout the development process, the HSI Forensic Laboratory has identified several capabilities which are required to enhance the effectiveness of the initial operating IDEAL 2.0 system, including an increase in automated tasks and searches.
