Expertise in science, engineering, policy, training, program management, safety and strategy is essential. The EP&HP, sustainability and environmental compliance, environmental health and safety compliance, and energy and resilience programs implementation are interrelated and complex. In addition, the performance metrics which DHS is required to achieve are increasingly challenging. The demand for increasingly complex and detailed program management across the enterprise requires expanded technical proficiency. Currently, there are over 100 federal environmental laws, each with implementing regulations, for protecting human health and the environment. Additionally, laws and regulations exist at the State and local level.
