About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VA) is seeking qualified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) to renovate the Nutrition & Food Service Kitchen at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VAMC in Jackson, Mississippi. The project involves a comprehensive renovation of the kitchen facility, requiring contractors to provide all labor, materials, supplies, parts, and equipment necessary for the upgrade. Interested firms must submit a three-page response to the sources sought notice by February 27, 2025, demonstrating their capabilities and meeting specific requirements under NAICS code 236220. Evaluation criteria include the firm's ability to self-perform at least 15% of the work, verification through the SBA's VetCert program, and capacity to obtain performance and payment bonds. Respondents must provide a detailed capability statement and confirm their small business classification, with a preference for SDVOSB or VOSB firms.
The contract is set aside specifically for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, with an anticipated award value between $5 million and $10 million for a one-time, Firm-Fixed Price contract. The project scope includes modernizing a 12,000 square foot kitchen facility to serve 150 hospital beds, which will require the installation of new equipment, administrative office space, and replacement of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Contractors will need to provide a temporary mobile kitchen during construction and complete the entire project within 180 days. The current size standard for the NAICS code is $45 million, allowing for a relatively broad range of qualifying businesses. Respondents must submit their information via email to the contract specialist, including their company details, DUNS number, CAGE code, and contact information, with a clear focus on demonstrating their capability to successfully execute this significant renovation project.
