About this opportunity
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center has issued a Special Notice for a sole source contract opportunity to procure XCalibur1900 VxWorks 7-22.03 Board Support Package (BSP) and related services. NASA intends to award this contract to Extreme Engineering Solutions, Inc. under NAICS Code 334111 (Electronic Computer Manufacturing) using FAR Part 12 and Part 13 procedures for commercial items and services. The procurement is specifically for prototyping, testing, and analyzing unreleased flight software and emulated flight hardware interfaces for the Gateway Power Propulsion Element Mission Processor Simulator. This work will be conducted at NASA Johnson Space Center as part of the Gateway Software Verification Laboratory operations. The contract includes both a complete VxWorks 7-22.03 board support package with one year of maintenance and technical support, as well as specialized development services for timer and 1588 support functionality.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to provide other potential contractors an opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities and qualifications before NASA proceeds with the intended sole source award. Interested organizations must submit their written capabilities and qualifications to the primary point of contact, Cara Craft, by 1:00 PM Central Standard Time on July 14, 2025. Oral communications are not acceptable for this submission process. The government will evaluate these submissions solely to determine whether to conduct the procurement on a competitive basis rather than as a sole source award. The final decision regarding procurement method remains at the government's discretion. The performance period for the resulting contract will be 12 months from the date of award, with work to be performed at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas.
