About this opportunity

The Air Force Test Center at Edwards AFB, California is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential contractors capable of providing a Wrong Way Detection System with installation services. The system includes specific components such as a Doppler radar antenna and housing for speed detection, an IF-2 control card with power supply and enclosure, a post mount bracket in various sizes, lighted warning signs for overspeed and wrong way detection, a guard booth annunciator panel, and a two-year extended warranty to provide three years total coverage including the factory warranty. The procurement falls under NAICS code 334290 (Other Communications Equipment Manufacturing) with a size standard of 800 employees and Product Service Code 6350 for miscellaneous alarm, signal, and security detection systems. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) as this is mandatory for contract participation. The RFI response deadline is September 16, 2025, just four days after the posting date of September 12, 2025, and responses will contribute to the Market Research Report for acquisition strategy development.

This pre-solicitation notice does not specify any set-aside designations, indicating it will be open to full and open competition among all eligible contractors. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are mentioned in the available documentation. The notice does not provide specific budget ranges or award values for the anticipated procurement, focusing instead on gathering market information to inform the acquisition strategy. The quantities specified include one unit each of the major system components, suggesting this is for a single Wrong Way Detection System installation. If sufficient qualified sources are identified through this market research phase, the Air Force Test Center anticipates issuing a formal Request for Quotation (RFQ) to proceed with the actual procurement process.
