About this opportunity
The Air Force Test Center (AFTC) at Edwards AFB, California is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) for Wireless Systems Maintenance Services to determine acquisition strategy and gather industry capabilities. The solicitation seeks a contractor to maintain wireless communications systems for Edwards AFB, Air Force Research Laboratory, and Air Force Plant 42, with a focus on Motorola trunked radio infrastructure. Interested vendors are required to submit a capability statement detailing their experience with similar government or commercial contracts, including business size, CAGE code/DUNS, and contract references. Responses must be submitted in Microsoft Word format, limited to two double-spaced pages, and sent via email to Willie Toles and Norman Mackie by February 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time. The RFI is part of the market research process to develop an efficient acquisition strategy, with vendors invited to provide input on contract type, clauses, and other acquisition aspects.
The pre-solicitation notice is set aside for total small business participation under NAICS code 811210, with a standard size of $34 million. The contemplated contract will be a Firm-Fixed Price arrangement, with services primarily focused on maintaining radio equipment, site infrastructure, and communication systems. Contractors must provide priority maintenance with a 2-hour response and 24-hour resolution time, as well as routine maintenance with 8-hour response and 10-day resolution periods. The contract will require service at multiple locations, including facilities in Building 1850 and five RF sites, with services to be performed Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM PST, excluding federal holidays. While no specific award value is explicitly stated, the NAICS size standard and the comprehensive maintenance requirements suggest a significant potential contract opportunity for qualified small businesses in electronic and precision equipment repair and maintenance.
