About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is issuing a sources sought notice (SPRDL1-26-R-A057) for vehicle winch drum assemblies (NSN 2590-01-592-5927) with a response deadline of October 14, 2026. This is not an open solicitation; qualification testing and evaluation are required to become an approved source, and source approval does not guarantee future business.
The Government seeks 16 base units with an option for up to 16 additional units. The winch drum assembly enables Heavy Equipment Transporters to recover themselves when immobilized, move other vehicles, or assist in recovering non-mission-capable tactical and combat equipment by using a motor to turn a spindle that winds or unwinds a cable attached to a fixed point. The Government does not hold rights to the Technical Data Package or specifications.
Interested vendors must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package and successfully complete qualification testing and evaluation to compete on future solicitations. Source approval provides the opportunity to compete only; it does not obligate award.
Vendors should reference the Source Approval Program documentation and SAR Package Requirements available through TACOM's ombudsman office. Direct inquiries to the Source Approval Officer at usarmy.detroit.tacom.mbx.mso-ombudsman@army.mil.
