About this opportunity

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service, specifically the Pacific Northwest Region (Region 6), has issued a Special Notice for a tree planting project in the Willamette National Forest's McKenzie River Ranger District. The notice concerns a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) Call Order for vegetation management activities, utilizing the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 115310 for Support Activities for Forestry. This special notice is being published in accordance with USDA's Contracting Desk Book guidelines for simplified acquisition methods. The opportunity is categorized as a Total Small Business set-aside and was posted on May 9, 2025, with a due date of June 3, 2025. The notice is not a public solicitation but rather an internal notification for current BPA holders.

The primary objective of this project is to plant 192,082 seedlings on the McKenzie River Ranger District during November 2025. Contractors interested in this opportunity must already be holders of the applicable Vegetation Management BPAs located in USDA's Contract Portal. Eligibility is restricted to current BPA holders, and a specific BPA Call Request for Quotations (RFQ) will be issued exclusively to those qualified contractors. The project falls under the Natural Resources/Conservation category and is specifically focused on forestry support activities. Potential contractors should carefully review their existing BPA status and be prepared to respond to the forthcoming RFQ, which will detail the specific requirements for executing the tree planting project. The total small business set-aside indicates that only small businesses within the designated NAICS category will be considered for this contract opportunity.
