About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command seeks to procure one Lincoln VRTEX 360 Compact Welding Simulator (P/N LINK4914-1) or equivalent, with proposals due July 6. The procurement is set aside for small business concerns under the total small business category, with a small business size standard of 1,250 employees.
Place of performance is Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. The NAICS code is 333992, Welding and Soldering Equipment Manufacturing; PSC code is 3438, Miscellaneous Welding Equipment.
The equipment must be fully self-contained with all computing hardware and software housed internally, requiring no external USB connections or tethering to commercial laptops or PCs. The simulator must natively support multi-process simulation of four distinct arc welding processes—SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), FCAW (Flux-Cored), and GTAW (TIG)—within a single integrated unit. Training capabilities must encompass positional welding across Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, and Overhead positions with the ability to simulate welding on Butt, Lap, and Tee joint types. The system must provide automated visual feedback and scoring on critical welding metrics including work angle, travel angle, speed, and distance. The simulator must include a virtual structural bend test feature that visually demonstrates internal weld flaws, porosity, and structural failure points on completed virtual welds.
Award will be based on best value determination weighing price and technical factors. Pricing must remain firm for 60 calendar days. This is a combined synopsis and solicitation issued under FAR Part 12; no separate written solicitation will be issued. Delivery terms are FOB Destination.
