About this opportunity

The Department of the Army National Guard is seeking sources to provide a Weapons Umbilical Reliability Test Set (WURTS), a specialized testing device for MIL-STD-1760 weapons umbilical cables and Joint Miniature Munition Interface (JMMI) cables. The test set must function as a stand-alone unit that can assess end-to-end cable functionality within 45-60 seconds per test cycle, operating on standard D-cell batteries without requiring calibration. Key requirements include portability under 40 pounds, weatherproof rugged case construction, and the ability to test for continuity, open circuits, and short circuits across all wire connections. The device must provide clear pass/fail indicators through LED displays and include self-contained diagnostics to identify specific pin or wire failures. This pre-solicitation notice was posted on August 19, 2025, with responses due by August 29, 2025.

This opportunity does not utilize any set-aside designation, making it open to all qualified contractors capable of meeting the technical specifications. No incumbent contractors or current service providers are identified in the solicitation materials. The notice does not specify award values, budget ranges, or quantities of units to be procured. The procurement falls under NAICS code 334515 for Instrument Manufacturing for Measuring and Testing Electricity and Electrical Signals, and PSC code 6625 for Electrical and Electronic Properties Measuring and Testing Instruments. The WURTS must demonstrate compatibility with umbilicals from all current MIL-STD-1760 vendors, including specialized "Red Ring"/FRCS cable configurations.
