About this opportunity

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) is seeking contract support for weapon performance and effects analysis, with a specific focus on modeling and simulation (M&S) software updates and testing for multiple U.S. Navy weapon systems. The contract will cover comprehensive analysis and technical support for weapons including the AIM-9, AIM-120 AMRAAM, AGM-65 Maverick, Tomahawk Missile, and several other advanced missile systems. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database and submit a capability statement referencing solicitation number N6893625R3009 by January 20, 2025. The full Request for Proposal (RFP) is scheduled to be posted on SAM.gov on February 17, 2025. Interested firms must demonstrate experience, technical assets, and the ability to perform work while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and reliability.

The contract is not designated with a specific set-aside and falls under the Engineering Services NAICS category (541330). Work will be performed predominantly (90%) at contractor facilities, with 10% occurring at various government sites including NAWCWD China Lake and White Sands Missile Range. Personnel requirements are stringent, mandating U.S. citizenship and security clearances up to TOP SECRET/SCI. The period of performance is expected to begin in August 2024, with potential amendments in October 2024. Contractors must have the capability to handle classified information and host classified meetings for up to 20 people. While specific award values are not disclosed in the pre-solicitation notice, the technical complexity and range of weapon systems suggest a significant, multi-year contract with substantial scope for advanced defense research and development services.
