About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking a manufacturer to produce flat washers meeting specific military standards and aeronautical specifications. The solicitation covers the procurement of WASHER, FLAT with part number AN960D616, which must conform to various military standards including MIL-STD-130, MIL-STD-1285, and MIL-STD-973 for configuration control. Contractors must demonstrate the ability to manufacture these washers with precise material and physical requirements as specified in the documentation. The government will require comprehensive quality assurance, including contractor-performed inspections and maintaining detailed records for 365 calendar days after final delivery. Proposals must be submitted by February 13, 2025, with a required delivery timeline of 90 days, and contractors must be prepared to submit engineering change proposals and handle potential deviation or waiver requests according to specified military protocols.

The solicitation indicates no specific set-aside designation, suggesting the opportunity is open to all qualified businesses. Government source inspection will be mandatory, and contractors must follow strict packaging requirements under MIL-STD 2073. The washer specifications are highly technical, referencing specific cage codes and aeronautical standards, which suggests a specialized manufacturing capability is necessary. While specific award value is not explicitly stated, the detailed technical requirements imply this is likely a precision manufacturing contract for military aerospace applications. Potential contractors must be capable of producing washers that meet exacting military specifications, with marking and identification requirements that adhere to multiple military standards. The place of performance would be determined by the successful contractor, with documentation and potential inspections to be coordinated through the Naval Inventory Control Point in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
