The 766 Specialized Contracting Squadron is conduction market research to determine interest in a firm-fixed price type contract for a Complete Mobile Merlin SS200TI Aircraft Bird strike Avoidance Radar System, USAF Standard, see note, brand name or equal, for installation on Wake Island.
NOTE: Currently, no standard exists and the system requirements are left to the user of the systems. Currently, we are developing our site specific requirements to cover Wake Island approach and departures.



The anticipated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334511.


We are seeking information on companies and products capable to fulfill our requirement.

COMPLETE MOBILE MERLIN SS200TI AIRCRAFT BIRDSTRIKE AVOIDANCE RADAR SYSTEM USAF STANDARD


Dual solid-state, 200 watt, S-band radars and trailer-mounted, extendable radar towers


i. One (1) Horizontal Surveillance Radar (HSR) with Doppler processing and 7 degree tilt
ii. One (1) Vertical Scanning Radar (VSR) Electronics
i. Two (2) Radar signal digitization and processing computers
ii. MERLIN SQL Datasystem for remote displays, real-time risk analysis and web display service
iii. Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to support 30 minutes of battery operation
iv. Network switch and hub
v. Web relay for remote control
vi. Ancillary electronics including GPS/Compass
Three (3) user displays/computers with 22 inch monitors (one at system, two remote)
i. Custom web-based user MERLIN Advisor risk alerting displays
USAF ATTLA-compliant trailer platform and environmental controlled equipment enclosure
i. All equipment will be mounted on the trailer platform
ii. Dual axle, torsion suspension trailer, all aluminum construction
Installation support, start-up/commissioning, and operational integration support
Three (3) year parts and labor warranty
On-site User (5 days) Training to include reproducible copies of Operations & Maintenance Manuals


Two (2) additional site visits (3 days per visit) in the first operating year; 1 visit per year for additional years during warranty.


24-7 telephone/Internet technical support for three (3) Years


Three (3) years software upgrades


Three (3) years custom reporting (standard Airfield BASH reports)


EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR YEARS 4 AND 5


Extension of the original full parts and labor warranty
