About this opportunity
The United States Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is conducting market research to procure 50 Vibratory Compactors for ground and aviation units to support horizontal construction projects. These compactors will replace the current inventory that has exceeded its expected service life, with intended use in constructing roads, airfields, dams, storage areas, and repairing infrastructure. The equipment must meet rigorous military specifications, including compaction capabilities of 1,500-1,700 cubic yards per hour, compatibility with military fuel types, and operational performance in extreme temperatures ranging from -25F to 125F. Potential vendors are requested to provide detailed production rates, pricing information, and specification sheets, with responses due by July 15, 2025. The Request for Information (RFI) is not a commitment to procurement, but a preliminary market research effort to gather critical information before the formal solicitation.
The contract is expected to be a 5-year Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, with the Request for Proposal (RFP) anticipated for release in the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2027 and contract award projected for the third quarter of the same year. There are no specific small business set-aside designations for this opportunity, and the total procurement is estimated at 50 units of vibratory compactors. The equipment must be transportable via military aircraft including C-17, C-5, and CH-53K helicopters, and will require specific military modifications such as green paint, rifle mounts, and decontamination capabilities. Vendors will need to demonstrate their ability to meet NATO standards, utilize 24-volt electrical systems, and provide equipment that can operate in diverse and challenging environmental conditions. Interested parties should submit their responses electronically as a PDF to tommie.klise@usmc.mil by the specified deadline.
