About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland Engineering District, is conducting market research for vertical lineshaft pumps (PSC 4320, NAICS 333914) with a sources-sought response due May 13, 2026. This is not a formal solicitation but an informational canvass to assess industry capability and inform future procurement decisions.
USACE requires two identical vertical lineshaft pumps to replace a 30+ year-old drainage system at Big Cliff Powerhouse on the Santiam River, Oregon. The facility, which has operated since 1953, experienced recent pump failures that compromised automated drainage capability. Delivery is required to Detroit Dam in Mill City, Oregon, with restrictions to Monday–Thursday, 0700–1600 hours.
Technical specifications include 4-inch 150# ANSI 16.5 flange outlet, 75 GPM flow at 70 feet of head, continuously rising pump curve, 45-foot height from inlet to outlet centerline, 1-inch diameter stainless steel lineshaft in 5-foot sections, water-lubricated lineshaft bearings, bronze impellers, cast iron bowl, and basket strainers. Motors must be rated up to 3.0 horsepower with service factor of 1.15 or greater, powered by 3-phase 480V 60Hz supply at 1800 rpm or less. Pumped media consists of potentially silty water at temperatures ranging from 39 degrees Fahrenheit to 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
Vendors must submit capability statements and shop drawings with performance data sheets and pump curves. All business types are encouraged to respond, including small businesses, 8(a) firms, HUBZone, WOSB, EDWOSB, SDVOSB, and VOSB firms. No set-aside is anticipated. Estimated project cost is not disclosed.
