About this opportunity

The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center is seeking to procure two specific Safran VersaSync GPS M-Code Receiver components: a Rubidium Oscillator (Model A-1228-1351) and a VersaSync Evaluation Kit (Model 1228-0000-0705). This solicitation is being conducted as a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products, using a Request for Quotation (RFQ) format with the solicitation number FA820125Q0007. The contract will be evaluated using the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) process, which means that offers must first meet stringent technical requirements before pricing is considered. Technical acceptability requires that all items be in new condition, meeting precise product specifications outlined in the attached documents. Quotes must be submitted by March 25, 2025, with the evaluation focusing on compliance with technical specifications and lowest overall price among technically acceptable offers.

The solicitation is set aside for total small business participation and will be awarded under the NAICS category 334511 for Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing. The procurement involves a single unit for each of the two primary items, with a potential additional CLIN for shipping costs. Delivery is expected approximately 20 weeks after award, with the items to be shipped to Hill Air Force Base in Utah, specifically to the F2DTAF 84 RADES location. While specific award value is not explicitly stated, the contract involves specialized military-grade GPS and timing equipment with high-precision requirements. The procurement leverages a specific brand (Safran) with a brand name justification, indicating unique technical specifications that cannot be met by alternative manufacturers. The solicitation emphasizes new condition equipment with robust performance capabilities for military timing and frequency reference applications.
