About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 4 solenoid valves with National Stock Number 7R-4810-013889969-VH for a flight-critical application. This pre-solicitation notice indicates a complex procurement process that requires significant source approval and technical documentation from potential vendors. The contract opportunity, posted on January 23, 2025, has a response deadline of May 30, 2025, and requires interested parties to submit comprehensive technical data demonstrating their capability to produce the specified item. Vendors must obtain Government source approval prior to contract award, which involves submitting detailed information through NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) Source Approval Information Brochures. The evaluation criteria will focus on technical qualifications, manufacturing capability, and ability to meet strict military specifications.
There are no specific set-aside designations for this contract, meaning it is open to all qualified vendors who can meet the stringent requirements. The procurement will be awarded FOB Origin, and the Government reserves the right to continue the award process based on Fleet support needs, even if source approval evaluations are not completed in time. While no specific award value is mentioned, the relatively low quantity of 4 valves suggests this is a specialized, potentially high-value procurement for critical military equipment. Interested parties have 15 days from the notice date to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item. The solicitation emphasizes that award will only be made if the offeror, product, or manufacturer meets all qualification requirements in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) clause 52.209-1.
