About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 10 solenoid valves under NSN 7H-4810-015101488 for delivery to DLA Distribution Norfolk, Virginia. This procurement is specifically designated as a repair contract for items that the Navy has determined to be sole source due to the lack of necessary technical data for repair. Only companies approved by the In-Service Engineering Activity (ISEA) and certified as Depot Overhaul Points (DOP) may be considered for this repair work. Interested contractors must complete a Source Approval Request (SAR)-Maritime form available through the Navy Supply website, which will then undergo technical review by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The due date for responses is October 16, 2025, and offers for remanufactured, surplus, or new procurement items will not be considered and deemed non-responsive.

This opportunity is set aside for Total Small Business participation, focusing exclusively on companies that can demonstrate repair capabilities rather than manufacturing new components. No current contractors or incumbents are identified in the notice, and no specific contract values or budget ranges are disclosed. The procurement requires exactly 10 units to be repaired and delivered to the specified Norfolk facility. The approval process for potential contractors is noted to be lengthy due to the technical review requirements under NAVSEA authority. Companies interested in participating must possess the requisite technical data and repair capabilities, with certification as a DOP being mandatory for consideration. The timeline extends nearly one year from the posting date in October 2024 to the due date in October 2025, reflecting the complex nature of the approval and procurement process.
