About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 10 solenoid valves (NSN 7H-4810-013608451) for delivery to DLA Distribution in San Diego, California. The government currently does not own the technical data rights for this part and has determined it would be uneconomical to purchase those rights or reverse engineer the component. While this is technically a sole-source procurement under FAR 6.302-1, the Navy is allowing interested parties to submit proposals, capability statements, or quotations within 45 days of the April 4, 2025 publication date. Proposals received during this window will be considered, though the government retains full discretion in determining whether to proceed competitively. Interested vendors can obtain relevant technical specifications through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) via online ASSIST resources or by contacting their help desk directly.
The opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, targeting small business contractors capable of supplying the L22181P02 valve specification. The procurement is potentially subject to Free Trade Agreements and Buy American Act provisions, which may impact vendor eligibility. While specific award value is not disclosed, the quantity of 10 units suggests this is a relatively modest procurement. The technical data package (TDP) version 006 indicates specific manufacturing standards must be met. Vendors interested in participating must carefully review the technical requirements and be prepared to demonstrate capability of producing a precise solenoid valve matching the government's exact specifications within the specified delivery parameters.
