About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking repair services for one valve plug (NSN 4820-01-332-1922) under reference number QDDLGNS-1X 29127AA. This procurement specifically requires repair or modification of the existing valve rather than replacement or new procurement, as the government does not own the technical data package or drawings for this component. The contracting agency has determined it would be uneconomical to purchase the data rights or reverse engineer the part, limiting the procurement to repair services only. The opportunity is classified under PSC 4820 for valves, nonpowered, and interested parties can obtain relevant military specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point or ASSIST-Online services. The due date for this opportunity is August 20, 2025, with the original posting date of January 3, 2024.

This procurement does not include any set-aside designations and is open to all qualified contractors. The contract covers repair of a single unit (quantity of 1 each) with delivery terms specified as FOB origin. No incumbent contractors or potential award values are mentioned in the solicitation notice. The timeline spans nearly two years from the original posting date to the final due date, suggesting a complex procurement process potentially involving lengthy technical evaluation periods. The technical data package version is identified as TDP VER 001, indicating this may be an established item with documented specifications despite the government's lack of data ownership.
