About this opportunity

The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure valve modification and thrust repair services for vehicular brake, steering, axle, wheel, and track components under NSN 7R-2530-015854970-P8. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though all responsible sources may express interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Early and incremental deliveries are accepted and preferred, with delivery terms FOB Origin. The contracting documents will be considered "issued" when deposited in mail, transmitted by facsimile, or sent through electronic commerce methods such as email. Interested parties have 45 days from the publication date to submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements for consideration, though this notice is not a request for competitive proposals and the decision whether to compete remains at the Government's discretion.

This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and requires a quantity of 6 each under TDP version 001. No specific incumbent contractors or potential award values are mentioned in the notice. The procurement falls under PSC category 2530-P for vehicular brake, steering, axle, wheel, and track components, indicating specialized automotive or military vehicle parts. Commercial item suppliers have a shorter 15-day window to identify their interest and capability to satisfy the requirement with commercial alternatives. The Government has determined through market research that FAR Part 12 commercial item acquisition policies will not be used for this solicitation, suggesting the items require specialized manufacturing or modification processes.
