About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a Linear Valve (NSN 7H-4810-012521984) with Technical Data Package (TDP) Version 005, in a quantity of 3 units to be delivered FOB Origin. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1, indicating a potential sole-source procurement. All responsible sources may express interest and capability to respond to the requirement within 45 days of the notice's publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The proposed contract action is not a competitive proposal request, but the government will consider all proposals received within the specified timeframe. Interested parties can obtain relevant specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) via various methods including online access, phone, or mail.
The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, and no incumbent contractors are mentioned. The acquisition is subject to potential Free Trade Agreements and Buy American Act provisions, as indicated by possible DFARS clauses 252.225-7036 and 252.225-7021. The government has determined it would be uneconomical to purchase data rights or reverse engineer the part, which suggests a unique or specialized component. While no specific award value is provided, the procurement is for a small quantity of three units classified under PSC Category 4810 for Powered Valves. The opportunity was posted on May 3, 2025, with a response deadline of June 27, 2025, and represents a specialized procurement approach that allows for potential vendor input while maintaining significant government discretion in the final contracting decision.
