About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure five (5) linear valves with National Stock Number 7H-4810-014334443, specifically under Technical Data Package Version 002. The procurement is aligned with Reference Number 21338-001, with delivery designated as FOB Origin. Due to complex data rights and economic considerations, the government intends to negotiate with a single source under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 authority. While the notice is not a formal competitive solicitation, interested vendors may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 45 days of publication (or 30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The government retains sole discretion in determining whether to pursue a competitive procurement based on responses received.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside designation for this contract opportunity. The procurement is categorized under Product Service Code 4810 for Powered Valves, suggesting specialized technical requirements. Potential contractors will be evaluated on their capability to provide the exact valve specifications without requiring data rights purchase or reverse engineering. The total quantity is definitively set at five units, with a delivery expectation at origin. While no specific award value is mentioned, the specialized nature of the valve and the government's intent to work with a single source suggest a potentially targeted and precise procurement process. The response window extends from January 8, 2025, to March 14, 2025, providing vendors approximately 65 days to express interest and demonstrate capabilities.
