About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 10 linear valves with a National Stock Number 7H-4810-012284228 and Technical Data Package Version 002. The proposed contract action will be negotiated with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, indicating a potential sole-source procurement. Interested parties may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 45 days of the synopsis publication (30 days if awarded under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement). The government has determined it is uneconomical to purchase data rights or reverse engineer the part, which limits competitive sourcing. Potential bidders can obtain relevant military specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point in Philadelphia, with documents primarily available through ASSIST-Online.
The procurement is not set aside for any specific business category and will be delivered FOB Origin. The solicitation is subject to potential Free Trade Agreements and Buy American Act provisions, as indicated by potential DFARS clauses 252.225-7036 and 252.225-7021. While no specific award value is mentioned, the procurement involves a relatively small quantity of 10 valve units. The government has discretion to determine whether to compete the contract based on responses received. Interested parties must demonstrate capability to satisfy the government's requirements, with commercial item alternatives potentially being considered within 15 days of the notice. The procurement falls under Product Service Code 4810 for Powered Valves and is part of a military supply chain acquisition.
